Interstate Challenge
This prestigious pétanque event was hosted by Subiaco Petanque Club over last weekend, Saturday and Sunday August 29-30. The competition was conducted over 9 rounds of doubles and triples disciplines, after which New South Wales and Western Australia were the top teams. The final games played between these two teams resulted in a very close 1-point margin win to NSW.

The second round of a new President's Cup year was held last Saturday, August 15 with twenty eight members competing. Some great games were enjoyed before Gilbert Baatard emerged as the winner. Ian Russell-Brown, Megan Cheyne, Julieth Bebero, Mary Willis, and Sue Dauth were also prize winners. Next Saturday, August 22, Subiaco Petanque Club will enjoy an afternoon of social petanque. The inclement weather curtailed social play at the club last Saturday August 08. It did allow for planning of the prestigious petanque event, the Interstate Challenge, to be hosted by Subiaco over Saturday/Sunday August 29/30. AGM
Last Saturday, July 25, Subiaco Petanque Club held its AGM, followed by a BBQ and social play. A highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of the President's Cup trophies to the winners, viz, Suren Appadoo for the men and Sylvia Baatard for the ladies. Congratulations to both players for a consistent performance all year. Next Saturday August 01, the first round of the new President's Cup year will begin. The final round of the President's Cup was held last Saturday, July 18 with twenty five members competing. Some great games were enjoyed before Marek Glinski emerged as the winner. Wright/Gridley Doubles Trophies
Subiaco Petanque Club held the annual Wright/Gridley Doubles competition, honouring club stalwarts Julie and Val on Saturday, July 11. The men's trophy was won by the team of Ravin Parianen and Arnaud Virassamy. Marion Meacock and Julieth Bebero were victors of the Ladies Trophy. Thirty three members enjoyed beautiful weather while competing for points in the President's Cup last Saturday, July 04. State Veterans Triples at Subiaco

Guy Soubeyran Singles tournament
Club members competed for the Singles trophy in honour of life member Guy Soubeyran last Saturday, April 18 in an enjoyable afternoon of pétanque. Julieth Bebero won the ladies trophy with runners up Sylvia Baatard and Marion Meacock. The men's competition was won by Gilbert Baatard with Rob Dunlop and Arnaud Virassamy runners up. Subiaco Petanque Club hosted the open Twilight Triples last Saturday, February 14. with eleven teams competing. Congratulations to club member Suren Appadoo who was in the second placed team. Christmas Party
The club held the annual Christmas Dinner last Saturday, December 13. Thirty three members enjoyed a festive meal together wonderfully prepared by Val and Julie. Members donated gifts for Vickram's family who we sadly lost during the year. A few keen players enjoyed pétanque under lights after dinner. A final round of the President's Cup for the year will be held next Saturday, December 20. Visitors are welcome on Saturdays and Wednesdays .

Guy Meunier Trophy
Members celebrated the contribution of Guy Meunier to the pétanque club last Saturday, November 22, when members competed for the memorial Trophies. The winning men's team comprised Guy Soubeyran, Marek Glinski and John Beamish. The team of Emma Isliker and Marion Meacock won the ladies trophy. The club will hold another round of the President's Cup next Saturday, November 29. Visitors are welcome on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
